Taapsee Pannu REACTS to social media user asking on ‘Woman slapping a man’ and vice versa – Times of India

Taapsee Pannu’s recent release ‘Thappad’ has been the talk of the town since the announcement. Post the release of the film, the actress received a lot of appreciation and love for her performance in the film.

The story of the film revolves around a woman (Taapsee) who files for a divorce after her husband slaps her. Recently, Taapsee reacted to Neha Dhupia’s tweet where the latter shared how her family members are getting harassed for her statements on a show.

Soon, a social media user called out Taapsee and wrote, “When a man slaps a woman, focus on slap & not the reason. When a woman slaps a man hard multiple times, focus on the reason & not the slap.

Gyaan from Shri Shri Feminist 1001 @taapsee”

To which Taapsee replied, “Kindly focus on the reason both the times. N if u can’t see the difference contact sri sri ‘any regular sane human being’ for help. N next time , try other ways to sound reasonable, this one isn’t working anymore :)”

This didn’t stop the user and she went on to add, “Also, I don’t have to “try” to sound reasonable because I am reasonable. However, next time, you can definitely try to sound more equal in your perspectives on gender based violence, because you’re failing terribly this time :)”

Meanwhile, the film also stars Pavail Gulati, Ratna Pathak Shah, Tanvi Azmi, Dia Mirza, Ram Kapoor, Kumud Mishra and Manav Kaul. Helmed by Anubhav, backed by Bhushan Kumar, the film was released on February 28.
